Theme: Hallelujah

Day 4 – 10th of August, 2017.
Message Title : The Wall of Jericho Must Fall.

Ministering: Pastor E.A Adeboye

Bible Text: Joshua 6:20 Joshua  6:20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

Prayer point: Father, in my life, do something tonight that You have never done before.

Destiny is God’s original plan for one’s life. Jer 1:4-5. This plan is a good one. Jer 29:11
God had a plan for the lives of Moses (Exo 3:11-12), David (1 Sam 16:5-13) and Joshua (Jos 1:1-6)
In the simplest language possible, the wall of Jericho is that thing that stands between someone and the fulfilment of purpose. The Red Sea was a wall of Jericho to the children of Israel. Exo 14:1-28

Also, a lion, a bear and Goliath stood as walls of Jericho to David, trying to block his way to the throne(David’s destiny). 1 Sam 17

When Joshua was faced with the wall of Jericho, God gave him instructions on what to do, because He knows the end from the beginning. Acts 15:18, Ps 90:1-2

In Mark 1:40-45, the man who was supposed to be an evangelist was held down by leprosy until God stepped in.

The mad man of Gadara was destined to be an evangelist as well but the enemy intercepted with madness. Luke 8-27-40 Hannah was also planned to birth a great prophet but the enemy tried to make her barren. 1 Sam 3:19-21

All these are examples of walls of Jericho.
The only thing we need to do is to praise the One who is the destiny maker.
Moses was a songwriter. Exo 15:1:11. We would be singing his song in heaven. Rev 15:1-3

David was also a songwriter and a psalmist. Ps 34:1-3

Also, in 1 Sam 2:1-2, we see Hannah delivering a song. Whenever you see someone who can praise God, you can’t hold him down.

If you can’t compose songs, then you should be able to sing and if not, you should be able to at least make a joyful noise.

God will not pay attention to the praise of a sinner. Pro 15:8

When God told Joshua to go round the wall of Jericho once in 6 days and seven times on the 7th day, He just wanted to test if he will obey and trust Him because all these does not make sense in bringing down a wall.
God said we should go round silently seven times and then shout Hallelujah at the blast of the trumpet.
