Memorise: And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Lord , I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness. 2 Samuel 15:31 KJV

Read: 2 Samuel 17:21-23 21 After the men had left, Ahimaaz and Jonathan climbed out of the well. Then they left and informed King David. They advised David, “Get up and cross the stream quickly, for Ahithophel has devised a plan to catch you.” 22 So David and all the people who were with him got up and crossed the Jordan River. By dawn there was not one person left who had not crossed the Jordan.  23 When Ahithophel realized that his advice had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and returned to his house in his hometown. After setting his household in order, he hanged himself. So he died and was buried in the grave of his father.

There’s none to be trusted except the Lord. If the Lord is not your confidant, you have cheaply sold out to future disappointments. God is the giver of right counsel. You need him to be led correctly to those who will speak right words into your life and pray along with you. Not so many are truly chosen to guide and direct in things pertaining to life and godliness. That’s why you must prayerfully choose those you consider as mentors and instructors. Some mentors will later translate to tormentors leaving you with terrible and irreparable pains and hurtful deeds. May you not fall into such evil hands in Jesus’ name.

And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father. 2 Samuel 17:23 KJV

Ahithophel was one of such evil conspirators. Thank God for the prayers of David as recorded in our memory verse. The Lord put his evil counsel to shame and he died in his mischief. Every evil conspirator pretending to be your friend, associate and counselor shall be shamefully disgraced in Jesus’ name. Don’t keep quiet over your life. Report every case to God in prayers. Ask the Lord to vindicate you at work, in your marriage and concerning your businesses. The enemies shall not prevail over you but they shall fall by their own swords in Jesus’ name. Your portion shall be victory at all levels.

Pray with me: Father, disgrace every conspirator that is risen against me and put my tormentors to open shame in Jesus’ name.
