Daily Devotional: SPEAK THE TRUTH ALWAYS
TOPIC: SPEAK THE TRUTH ALWAYS
Memorise: For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. Proverbs 8:7 KJV
Read: Proverbs 8:1-7 1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice [is] to the sons of man. 5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips [shall be] right things. 7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness [is] an abomination to my lips
The Truth in the word of God has no substitute. It’s either the truth or bundle of lies. If you are of the Lord Jesus, your lips and heart will be guarded with the word of God and you will always speak right words. God expects you to be a child of the light such that darkness and all it manifestations will be far from your dwelling. Therefore, make up your mind to speak as commanded by the Lord and avoid the lies of the devil through talebearing, backstabbing, backbiting and others. I pray God will give you understanding this morning in Jesus’ name.
The devil is the father of lies and when you choose to stay on his platform, the Bible says in John 8:44, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Liars are killers just like the devil. May you not be identified with the devil in Jesus’ name. Therefore speak right words. Speak the word of God and speak the truth always whether it’s convenient or not. There’s wisdom in acting and speaking correctly as commanded by the Lord. The truth will set you free and you will be vindicated but lies tend to shame and reproach. Choose the word of God this morning and you will begin to grow in the wisdom of the Lord.
Confess this word of the Lord daily Colossians 4:6 6 Let your speech [be] alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Pray with me: Father, give me the grace to speak your words continually for your words are true.
