Memorize: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Beloved, it will be good if you will always examine yourself to ascertain if you in the faith and on a journey to see God or not. Failure to reconfirm your Christian status could lead to irreparable vulnerability and total loss without knowing. Therefore, before answering a name you don’t really bear, its better you consider your ways to be sure you have genuinely and truthfully departed from your former manners unto a new life in Jesus Christ.

Until there’s a departure from your old self and a journey in newness of life, you are yet playing around salvation and redemption. You must genuinely repent and forsake your sins with seriousness to embrace Jesus as your Lord and Savior. This is what qualifies you to start the kingdom race. It won’t stop at that, your old nature of sin must be released to go. Once you are married to Jesus, you can no longer play around iniquities and worldliness. Every call to your yesterday must be rejected. Start focusing on Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of your faith. Work and walk consistently to satisfy Him and to obey his words. Drop the old things but pick up the new life that is in Jesus and you will be sure you are not serving the Lord in vain. Beloved, you must be genuinely born again and also get ready to continue steadfastly in holiness in order to see the living God.

Reflections: Are you free from your old man? Who rules over your life? Check and reject every trace of the old nature and Jesus will be your Lord.
