Songs of Solomon 2: 2-4 2. The Lover to His Beloved Like a lily among the thorns so is my darling among the maidens. 3. The Beloved about Her Lover: Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. 4. The Banquet Hall for the Love-Sick The Beloved about Her Lover:He brought me into the banquet hall, and he looked at me lovingly.

Looking at the bible text we can learn two things from the lovers:

  1. They spend time with each other.
  2. They speak tender words to each other.

Thus, if your partner is not excited with you and doesn’t spend time with you during courtship he/she won’t during marriage.

When you are in love you share details and trials. If your partner doesn’t share details and trials with you during he/she won’t in marriage.

The way to a woman’s heart is the tender words. If the man (brother) doesn’t speak tender words to you (sister) during courtship, don’t expect it in marriage. In the same manner, men love to be respected, if she is not exercising loyalty during courtship she won’t in marriage.

In conclusion, if your relationship is bereft of these points, it’s time you considered to opt out. Perhaps your relationship had all of it but suddenly came to a halt, you need to ask questions from your partner to be sure he/she wants to continue.

Above all, build your relationship on Christ (all other ground are sinking sand), so that if anything goes wrong you can report to HIM and peradventure you both are not meant to be together the HOLY SPIRIT would uncover it to you.
